Hand-harvested in Herat, lab-certified to ISO 3632, and shipped to wholesale buyers in 8+ countries. Every lot fully traceable from field to package.
Founded in 2018 by Shahram Mohammadi, Aqiq Saffron works directly with Afghan farming families whose ancestors have cultivated crocus sativus for generations — no intermediaries, no dilution, no shortcuts.
We began with a simple premise: that the world's most discerning buyers deserve to know exactly where their saffron came from, who harvested it, and what's actually in it. Eight years on, we've grown deliberately — refusing volume that would compromise consistency, and investing in our farming partners before our margins.
From cultivation through grading, drying, and packaging, every stage is managed under strict quality control and international food safety standards. ISO 3632 is the floor, not the ceiling. Lab testing, traceability, and hygienic packaging are non-negotiable.
Saffron is the most labour-intensive spice on earth. Each gram represents roughly 150 hand-picked flowers, opened one by one at dawn.
Crocus sativus bulbs planted in Herat's mineral-rich highland soil.
Hand-picked at dawn during a two-week flowering window each autumn.
Each flower opened by hand; only the red stigmas selected.
Controlled natural drying — no chemicals, no shortcuts.
Graded, lab-tested, and hygienically sealed for export.
From Super Negin's long, fully-red threads to traditional Bunch Daste, every grade we export is single-origin Herat, hand-selected, and lab-certified.
Long, thick, fully red stigmas with no yellow style. The benchmark for aroma, coloring strength, and visual perfection.
Long red stigmas with excellent aroma and rich color — for culinary professionals and export markets.
Separated red stigma tips with strong coloring power and rich aroma — the workhorse of food production.
What separates us is not what we do once — it's what we do every season, every batch, every shipment.
Traditional farming methods, no chemicals, no shortcuts. Our partner farmers have done this for generations.
Every batch tested to ISO 3632 — moisture, crocin, picrocrocin, safranal. COA included with every wholesale order.
Picked before sunrise during the two-week window each autumn. Each flower opened by hand, each stigma selected by eye.
