Eight years of building something that lasts.

A beginning in 2018
Aqiq Saffron was founded in 2018 by Shahram Mohammadi with a simple, ambitious vision: to introduce the authentic quality and exceptional character of Herat saffron to international markets — not as a commodity to be sold by the kilo, but as a heritage product worth its name.
What began as a single farmer partnership in the Herat highlands has grown into a trusted export house supplying buyers across the UAE, United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India and beyond.
Working directly with farmers
From day one, we have chosen the harder, slower path: working directly with Afghan farming families whose ancestors have cultivated crocus sativus for generations. No intermediaries. No quality dilution. No race to the bottom on price.
Every harvest is a partnership — and a responsibility. The farmers know the land. We make sure their work reaches the markets that value it.
Quality, by discipline
From cultivation through grading, drying, and packaging, every stage is managed under strict quality control and international food safety standards. ISO 3632 is the floor, not the ceiling. Lab testing, traceability, and hygienic packaging are not features — they are the minimum we owe to anyone who chooses our saffron.
A house that grows slowly
We have grown deliberately. We have refused volume that would compromise consistency. We have invested in our community before our margins. And we will continue to — because trust, like saffron, is a long crop.
